The Japanese word ‘Marebito’ means a guest from distant lands who used to carry blessing, songs and tales, which were the origin of the theatre. The host (aruji) completes the person of an original wandering actor. And so there is a guest and his host. A newcomer and householder. Master and his pupil.
The Foundation was created upon theatrical search based on both traditional cultures and modern performative techniques. The organization of workshops with Noh theatre master, Akira Matsui, in 2005 in Poland was the direct incentive for confering the formal frames upon the Foundation, the activity of which is gradually developing by still organizing new plays and gaining new partners.
